Owner / Creative Director
Spider spent most of her career in advertising in New York City. From JWT to BBDO, she has created national print, radio and television campaigns for Pepsi, Visa, Nike, Charles Schwab, Footlocker, M&M/ Mars, Federal Express, Bell Atlantic, The Aruba National Tourism Account, Doritos, The Wall Street Journal, Nestlé, Holiday Inn, and many more. She has worked extensively in broadcast, print, and digital and has done a wide variety of marketing and branding consulting for clients across the country. As the creative director on numerous national and international accounts, she has overseen creative development for accounts with budgets averaging from $1–$50 million. As Owner and Creative Director of Six Pony Hitch, Spider takes on the most challenging issues for businesses and organizations. Drawing on her strong background in branding, communications, film, and storytelling, she leads the agency in producing strong, effective, results-driven work for our clients. Spider has won numerous awards and citations from prestigious institutions including the Cannes Film Festival, Clio Awards, Art Director’s Club, and the International Film and Television Awards and has been featured in major advertising publications around the world, including Archive Magazine, Communication Arts, Adweek, and Advertising Age.
Senior Graphic Designer
Travis has a degree in graphic design from Oregon State University, where he studied under experts from Yale and Rhode Island School of Design. He is a brand strategist and senior graphic designer specializing in identity, packaging, website, and environmental design. He brought his insightful design approach to Six Pony Hitch in 2013 and has been a foundational member of the company. Travis has worked for clients across a range of industries including beverage, nonprofit, consumer goods and package, luxury, finance, and healthcare. He brings a unique perspective and an endless well of talent to all projects.
Nate’s fascination with the building blocks of the world around us led him to pursue an undergraduate degree in physics with a minor in climate change studies before he turned to graphic design. He brings his curious and organized mind to all projects, providing insightful and meticulous creative work. Nate has applied his strong conceptual skills to clients in industries ranging from luxury and consumer goods to finance and apparel. His dogged pursuit of knowledge, efficiency, and enthusiasm have earned him the exclamation point in his title.
Melanie is our superstar copywriter. She came to Six Pony Hitch with a diverse background including Marketing Director and Program Director for a non-profit, Lead Copywriter for an online retailer, and Account Manager at an advertising agency. Her experience with strategic planning, and strong knowledge of branding and positioning on the client side informs her work as a copywriter, where she consistently delivers work that is both strategic and creative. And, yes, she does also write romance novels.
